iCorNet Laboratory is a venture company established in December 2016 aiming to commercialize the "tailor-made heart support net treatment for patients with advanced heart failure" that I, Toshiaki Akita (specially appointed professor of the Graduate School of Medicine, Nagoya University) have been working on for many years.

The cardiac support net is a mesh-bag like medical device to prevent progressive cardiac enlargement (= cardiac remodeling), which is major cause of worsening heart failure. It is designed and manufactured in a tailor-made manner to optimize cardiac function based on a patient-specific 3D cardiac model created from MRI and CT images. The feature is that the burden on the patient is reduced because the surgery is completed in an extremely short time.

With the cooperation of the UT-Heart Institute, which has the world's highest level of heart simulation technology, we received advices on cardiac support net design.

We will do our best to deliver this treatment device to patients suffering from heart failure as soon as possible.
