Dilated cardiomyopathy.
New SolutionsPioneering the

(iCorNet) Laboratories, Inc. is engaged in the research and development of a support net to mitigate the progression of idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (hereafter referred to as dilated cardiomyopathy), a longstanding project of Toshiaki Akita, a specially appointed professor at Nagoya University Hospital.

Dilated cardiomyopathy is a disease in which the left ventricle dilates to compensate for the reduced circulatory function of the heart, and is designated as an incurable disease. A support net was developed to improve this vicious cycle, in which the heart is burdened by continuous dilation, but it was not put to practical use at that time.
We focused on this function and thought that a new product that eliminated the disadvantages would "alleviate some of the pain and help people lead their daily lives.

Dilated cardiomyopathy is a difficult disease to cure completely. Currently, it is said that the only effective means to cure the disease is to alleviate suffering by medication or heart transplantation. In such a situation, we started research on "Support Net" as a new option to cope with the disease, hoping to "reduce patients' suffering by slowing down the progression of the disease" and "extend the time that patients can spend in good health as much as possible".

The product has demonstrated efficacy in clinical studies and trials, and is currently being recruited for clinical trials to finalize the approval process.
We would appreciate your cooperation for the benefit of approximately 20,000 patients throughout Japan.

"Everyday as usual"
I hope you can stay as long as possible.

Dilated cardiomyopathy is designated as an incurable disease,
No clear cause has been identified,
No complete cure was possible,
The disease is getting worse day by day.
It also affects daily life, such as heart palpitations and shortness of breath,
In advanced and severe symptoms.
I need a break, even to go up a few steps."
Breathing is difficult just lying down (orthopnea)."
and other cases.

The only treatment is to alleviate the pain with medication and wait for the turn for a heart transplant. However, onset of dilated cardiomyopathy is more common in people in their 50s, making the opportunity for heart transplantation less likely.

Therefore, we would like to propose the use of support nets for those with mild to moderate symptoms. By attaching a net that is both flexible and strong to the heart as it continues to expand, we believe that it may be possible to slow the speed of expansion without interfering with the pump function, and that it may even lead to a slight prolongation of life.

Rather than giving up on the disease because it is difficult to cure completely, we will delay the progression of the disease by treating it early. By doing so, we hope to increase the number of healthy days in the lives of our patients.
With this in mind, we continue to research and develop support nets.
