「心臓形状矯正ネット」とは、突発性拡張型心筋症（以下、拡張型心筋症）の治療において“症状の進行を遅らせ、運動機能を改善する”ということを目的とした研究開発中の製品です。
Dilated cardiomyopathy is a disease in which the heart muscle expands to compensate for the heart's reduced function, instead placing a greater burden on the heart. The goal of the treatment is to "improve heart function while suppressing the dilation of the left ventricle" by covering it with a net tailored to each patient's heart. The results of the study showed that in all three cases, heart failure symptoms improved and exercise function improved.
We are developing this innovative treatment for dilated cardiomyopathy by applying the latest technology, which currently has only special treatment options such as waiting until end-stage heart failure to "implant an artificial heart" or "perform a heart transplant surgery".

心臓形状矯正ネットはテーラーメイド方式。患者さんの心臓の形と状態に合わせて設計・製造します。あらかじめ患者さん毎の画像データに基づいて作成されたネットなので、心臓にフィットし、心臓拡大を防ぐための適切なサポート圧がかかるようになっています。

これまでの臨床試験のまとめ
CLINICAL DATA
- 心臓移植適応から外れた65歳以上のNYHA-III拡張型心筋症患者7例にテーラーメイド方式心臓形状矯正ネットの植込み手術が実施され、試験機器に関する有害事象発生はありませんでした。
- 術後24週での評価で、肺うっ血の著明な改善、運動耐容能の大幅な改善が得られ、心拡大の抑制と運動機能の改善は術後2年においても維持が確認できています。
- この結果、検証的治験（承認申請を行うための治験）に移ることに決まりました。
